Production Director

Overview:

The role is responsible for leading, developing, and organizing all facets and elements related to production, including team development, project implementation, and short/long range planning. The ideal candidate would have experience leading a thriving, healthy, growing production team.

This is a full-time position with a budgeted salary range of $60-70K. Compensation is based on experience and includes an extended benefits and vacation package. Working hours may require working evenings and weekends.

Church Size: 1500+
Position Status: Part Time, 15 Hours/week
Reports to: Creative Communications Director
Works closely with: Communications Team, SERVE Team members, Ministry Staff

Candidate Profile:

Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production leadership roles, preferably in a church, live event, and broadcast setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in audio, video, lighting, and broadcast systems (both live and post-production workflows).
  • Proven experience recruiting, training, and developing teams of volunteers and staff.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience working with production equipment and software such as Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ableton, Cubase, Lightkey, DaVinci, and Blackmagic Design
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Broadcast, Production, Communications, Audio Engineering, etc.) preferred but not required

Primary Responsibilities
Production Leadership
  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all production aspects of weekend services, special events, and church-wide initiatives across current and future Bayview campuses.
  • Lead the creative and technical development of our Online Worship Experience—leveraging digital platforms to expand reach, enhance engagement, and bring the Gospel to people wherever they are.
  • Supervise and support the Production Coordinator and any future production staff, ensuring clarity of roles, expectations, and performance.
  • Oversee and maintain relationships with production vendors, contractors, and equipment providers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality service.
  • Partner with the Worship Pastor to imagine and shape the future of production at Bayview — crafting innovative experiences that reflect and advance the church’s mission and vision.
Volunteer Development
  • Manage the volunteer onboarding process, ensuring new team members are welcomed, equipped, and integrated into the team well.
  • Develop ongoing training and growth opportunities for the production SERVE team.
  • Create a culture of ownership, excellence, and discipleship among volunteers, empowering them to grow in both skill and faith.
Technical Expertise
  • Provide hands-on technical support and strategic oversight for all AVL systems (audio, video, lighting, and broadcast), ensuring operational integrity for every service and event.
  • Lead the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of production technology across all spaces—worship center, studio, classrooms, and mobile setups.
  • Own and manage all aspects of the weekend experience production process—including planning, rehearsals, execution, broadcast, and post-production.
Administrative Excellence
  • Develop and manage the production department’s annual budget, including forecasting, purchasing, and expense tracking.
  • Oversee inventory and asset management of all production-related equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness, stewardship, and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
